The Cornwall Regional Task Force has charged nine people from the area for cigarette smuggling since July 8.
Four of those arrested were from Akwesasne, one from Cornwall, one from Finch, one from Moose Creek and two from Hogansburg, New York.
The task force seized 19,400 bags of cigarettes, 362 kilograms of fine-cut tobacco in 20 garbage bags, 100 cartons of flavoured cigars, 11 vehicles such as pickup trucks and vans, two small boats, 36 large bottles of whiskey, rum and vodka, and 150 cans of beer.
The seizures were made in Cornwall, at the local border crossing, in South Stormont, but seven of them occurred in South Glengarry.
Between July 8 and 20, the police task force assisted officers from the Canada Border Services Agency and was assist by the Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit and the RCMP's Marine Security Enforcement Team.
