Re: 'A jump-start for land talks' (Editorial, May 13)

How can the Six Nations expect to have meaningful land claims results if they cannot agree on who represents them? The band council and Confederacy leadership must merge to be able to negotiate with any meaning.

In the past, the Six Nations negotiators have refused to accept documented proof from the governments that some of their claims were unfounded as the land was traded off in the past. When they were offered fair compensation for some of their land claims, they responded by wanting ridiculous amounts of money as compensation.

Why should the government waste its time and money negotiating with people who refuse to negotiate in good faith?
