$30,000 worth of illegal tobacco seized Saturday

Provincial police hit a mother load of illegal tobacco during a Ride check on Brant County Road 22 on Saturday.
Brant OPP seized 513 cartons of cigarettes, 243 packages of cigarettes and 271 cartons of cigars. Police couldn't give an estimate but the illegal products are worth more than $30,000.
Depending on the quality and brand, a cigarette carton can cost anywhere from $54 to $80 while an individual package can cost up to $10.
Brant OPP seized the illegal tobacco after stopping at mini-van at about 6:20 p.m.
Police have charged Hwa Wook Jung, 38 of Etobicoke under the Tobacco Excise Tax with possession of unmarked cigarettes, possession of tobacco in bulk purchase from a person who doesn' t hold a permit and two counts of possession of untaxed tobacco.
