(Staff ) -A Canadian Human Rights Tribunal will begin in Cornwall next week over the alleged mistreatment of an Akwesasne resident by the Canada Border Services Agency.
The complainant, whose surname is Davis, alleges discrimination by the agency based on age, race and gender.
According to the federal government, tribunals operate based on evidence and law to determine whether discrimination has occurred.
If it has, the tribunal decides on victim compensation and future prevention.
Three sets of dates are planned for the public tribunal, which begins Nov. 9.
The tribunal is expected to wrap on Dec. 18.
