OPP charge Caledonia protester

CAYUGA – Haldimand OPP have arrested an Ohsweken man on a two-year-old  warrant for an incident during the height of the tension during the first months of the douglas Creek Estates occupation in Caledonia.

The man was arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 3 at Nell's Corners west of Cayuga Monday afternoon.

The OPP did not offer any details of the May 2006 incident.

Constable Paula Wright said the man was unco-operative and was subsequently charged with obstructing police and resisting arrest.

The 33-year-old man is also  charged with mischief. He was to appear in Cayuga Court Tuesday for a bail hearing.
