Letter – The Regional
As I write this letter I am saddened by the pending resignation by one of the founding members and directors of Canace (Canadian Advocates for Charter Equality).
Mark Vandermaas former UN peacekeeper, Editor of Voice of Canada, lead investigator of the Ipperwash papers, analyst extraordinaire and very dear friend of mine, cites financial difficulties among other things as the reason for his pullback.
As I reflect on the accomplishments of McHale, Vandermaas, Parkinson and in a small way myself it makes me extremely proud to be associated with these fearless giants.
When Floyd and Ruby were out of control with their illegal land occupations it was this group (Canace) that gathered evidence and charged them with extortion and intimidation when they occupied a Cayuga development. That development I understand is now sold out.
It was this group that captured on video tape an OPP officer saying a land title deed does not necessarily prove ownership. This is but a couple of examples with many hours and many dollars in expenses. There have been thousands of hours and thousands of litres of gas expended on this struggle for justice.
In spite of our detractors whom continue to slander and sling mud our way, we soldier on. Some as why? Because it's right.
There are some who care and support us financially, and there are some who believe the propaganda and outright lies of Fantino, Bryant and the rest of this provincial government.
To those I suggest you seek out the truth, e.g. Fantino says we asked him to settle land claims when in fact we asked him to enforce the law.
As I ponder this madness another Sixth Line family has fallen victim to the lawlessness, their mental, physical and financial health on the scrap heap.
I suggest every living breathing soul in this county indeed in the whole Country should be outraged.
We the member of Canace are up against the financial and legal might of the provincial government and the provincial police. We cannot afford legal council and as a consequence we tread a legal minefield on a daily basis.
In closing I appeal to all those who care, to pledge $5, $10 whatever you can afford per month before Canace caves under the financial and mental stress.
