This letter is addressed to a number of organizations and people I have a lot of respect for, and a good number who I have lost respect for over the last almost three years.
It's
Why is it that Caledonia has been treated to such a high level of disrespect and contempt by our former good neighbours from Six Nations, and the government forces we pay the highest taxes in the Eastern World to support?
Why is it that our small community, at one time the fastest growing town in
Like all Canadians we pay our taxes, we go to work, we send the kiddies to school, we enjoy our social and sport scenes. So what is it we are doing wrong and why have all levels of our government, and the police force we need dearly, chosen to abandon us in out greatest time of need? Is it because a few of us have refused to be "good citizens" and hide away in our homes, our heads firmly buried in the sand? Is it because a few of us have taken it upon ourselves to holler that governments and their factions are created to serve the people, not the other way around? Is it because the current wave of political correctness in this country has hand-cuffed the authorities so tightly that they dare not do what's right if it will affect that image?
I left my house this morning for a supposed twenty minute round trip into town to support the local businesses, pick up something for breakfast, and head home to enjoy it with my family. Lo and behold it took me close to an hour and a half of detouring to finally make it back home! Why? Because the natives took it upon themselves again, with the total non-intervention and suspected support of the
A strong police show of force against the protestors is the only way this latest incident should be handled. Nothing short of massive arrests and incarceration should be the order of the day, and if any of the protestors are also those who sit at the negotiation tables, then they too should be arrested and denied access to the negotiations in the future. We don't need anyone speaking out of both sides of their mouths at these functions or they will never end in a solution. Plus terrorists should never be negotiated with anyway.
I could fill volumes as to how I feel, and many of the silent majority out there feel as well, about the lawlessness in this area, and most of the province it seems, when it comes to native thugs and terrorists. How things that are done by non-natives, no matter how minor, are prosecuted to the max by our authorities, yet natives who have done horrendous things are treated with kid gloves and in most cases allowed to walk with no more than a slap on the wrist. How political activists, such as Gary McHale, are arrested and banned from Caledonia for daring to point out publicly the OPP's obvious shortcomings, while aboriginal terrorists are allowed free reign to block roads, tear down hydro towers, set fires, threaten people's lives, all without consequence.

So here we sit on another pretty weekend land-locked in our little town while the power-that-be once again play Russian roulette with our safety! It's only a matter of time before there is a violent uprising from the frustrated citizens of the area and someone gets really hurt or killed.
I cannot wait until the next elections, and I only hope the rest of the province and country are hoping for it, too. Something needs to be done to change the course our current governments have chosen to steer. I heard an interesting anecdote the other day about why our governments and their agencies really don't care about what Joe Citizen thinks anymore. It has to do with fear. We've become too fearful of the consequences of what protesting will bring us, and we've become apathetic and paralyzed.
When the time comes that the people fear the government more than the government fears the people, a fascist state is easily created, and we're damn close to that now, aren't we?
