May I ask a question about Art Stanbridge's letter, "Chuck Strahl has let down Brantford," published Aug. 27?
I can sense his frustration, we are all frustrated. But who is Strahl supposed to talk to?
The elected band council? The traditional one? Floyd and Ruby Montour maybe? Or any one of the protesters who are driving in from elsewhere, even from south of the border, looking for excitement?
I was recently talking to a woman from Caledonia.
When she heard I was from Brantford, she said, "We have something in common." Her opinion? "It's not the ones who live
here; I went to school with them. It's the young hotheads who come in from other parts of the province and the U. S."
That sounds OK to me. I was not born here. My parents and I have nothing to do with this situation. But I do want it resolved before it gets worse. I think it is up to the native community to decide who speaks for them.
