Members of the Haldimand Tract Good Neighbors Coalition attended the Committee of the Whole meeting of the Grand Erie District School Board last night asking for the board's help in lobbying the government to put an end to Native land claims disputes. Consisting of the heads of various community developers, the group thinks the board can use its influence not only to teach the proper ideals to the students to ensure these types of animosities don't carry into the future, but also convince our leaders that we need a solution. Although the board agrees with the ideals put forth by the group and have agreed to consider the request, the GEDSB just isn't sure if political lobbying will benefit their students.
