The community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug is still waiting for a personal apology from the province after six band members being convicted of civil disobedience but Chief Donny Morris said Wednesday that if Premier McGuinty '' does show up l will be surprised.''

The First Nation sent a letter last week demanding an apology and a personal visit from Premier Dalton McGuinty but Morris said on Wednesday he still hasn't received any sort of acknowledgment.

He says the province put his community through a very tough time leaving them without leadership for two months and they deserve a personal apology. Five band members along with Morris were given 6-month jail sentences in March after disobeying a court order and not allowing junior mining company Platinex to access KI territory. Morris says that the court system is a part of McGuinty's staff which is why he should take responsibility for their incarceration.

Morris is currently in the city for an annual chief's meeting and it is speculated that Premier McGuinty will travel to Thunder Bay on Friday. Morris says he will not be contacting the Premier.

The Premier's office confirmed that they received the letter from Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation and say it is being reviewed.
