The Chief of Gull Bay First Nation wants to know why about $3 million in casino gaming revenue has gone to a First Nation that he says doesn't exist.

Chief Wilfred King says the Poplar Point First Nation which is unrecognized by Indian Affairs and has no land, has incorrectly received millions in cash from the proceeds of Casino Rama. The money is doled out by a management group called Ontario First Nations Limited Partnership who King says have known about this issue for years.

King says the group may have been slow to act due to the embarrassment of the situation and is now requesting an investigation into how First Nations are accredited under the revenue sharing program.

The Poplar Point First Nation was located out of a storefront in Thunder Bay and their phone number is now out of service. Chief King says he has proof the members of the First Nation were members of Gull Bay.
