RE: Land claim negotiations/and the long view
It's always easy for those that are retired or those with government jobs that are fairly secure or the politicians who lack leadership to indicate negotiations is the only way. Would those people be as patient if their livelihoods were put on hold? Negotiations yes, lawlessness no.
Ron Doering states, "This direct (injunction) action is never helpful and in our view negotiation is the way to go" he also says "given the urgency of the issue and seriousness of it for both natives and non-natives".
Perhaps urgency would be attained, if for example, Mr. Doering was given a flat fee of let's say $150,000 and for each day negotiations fail $3000 would be taken from the contract amount.
Please Mr. Doering stop making excuses for those that won't negotiate in good faith and get serious about those lives left in limbo through illegal occupations.
They are playing the government and the negotiators like a fiddle at the expense of the taxpayers.
Ron, incorporate plan B whatever that is. I'm sure you will remember that statement you made months ago.
