Re: '$54 million: total cost of Caledonia dispute' (Feb. 29)
I am a resident of Caledonia living on the outskirts of town. Hearing the dollar figures of the total cost of the dispute only makes me feel that Caledonia is a cash cow for members of government and the police force.
From the average citizen's point of view, nothing is happening in Caledonia other than police spending the time sitting in their cars catching speeders and seatbelt violators. I see no positive results in the last two years. We could consider Caledonia in a time warp or frozen in time since 2006.
The media has made it sound as if it is a mess out here. I can tell you from the average Caledonian that the only thing that has changed is people cannot sell their houses. Thank you to all in the government and to those in the media for inflating the problem while coming up with no solutions.
