Six Nations activist Skyler Williams, who is facing breach of probation charges in Cornwall, was released on $5,000 bail and stringent conditions tantamount to house arrest.
It was the 24-year-old Ohsweken resident's third bail hearing in eight days as he also faces criminal charges in Brant County and Haldimand County.
The charges in Haldimand involve counts of robbery and assault relating to an attack on two television cameramen on June 9, 2006.
The counts of mischief and assault police relate to his arrest at the Sterling Woods development in Caledonia on Sept. 19, 2007.
The Brant County charges involve an allegation that he breached a probation order relating to an assault conviction two years ago.
In Cornwall, it's alleged he failed to report to a probation officer after he was placed on probation in connection with a conviction for cigarette smuggling in August.
After surrendering himself to custody the night before, he appeared for a bail hearing in Cornwall court yesterday. His father, William Williams, pledged the $5,000 bond to secure his release and will be acting as his surety on his outstanding charges. He was ordered to return to Cornwall court on Jan. 7, 2008.
His dad had previously pledged a total of $30,000 at his bail hearings in Brantford and Cayuga. His wife, Stacey Skye, pledged $5,000 toward his Cayuga bail and the Six Nation community put up another $10,000 in cash. His total bail package for the three jurisdictions is $50,000.
