To anyone living in Toronto, Ben Chin should be well known. He used to be the news anchor for City TV News, then went onto CTV News then onto the CBC. He left the CBC to join Toronto 1, a city TV station but that was cancelled and he lost his job.

He then joined Global TV national news cast but quit before he ever went on air to join McGuinty's Liberals. He ran for McGuinty in the Toronto-Danforth by-election when NDPer Marilyn Churley resigned to run in last year's federal election, but lost to an NDP person. To those of us who remember the Paul Bernardo trial news coverage, Ben Chin covered that. Most in the news industry will tell you he has burned his bridges with the news world. Now he is the Liberal spokesperson for McGuinty's election campaign office. He was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1964 and his father was a South Korean diplomat. He also hosts internet videos that attack the Conservative Party. Ben Chin is very left wing leaning. Apparantly, he also does not believe in democracy as he thinks he has the right to threaten news outlets into not running certain stories. The following link from Inside the CBC will tell you a bit more about Ben Chin. link: http://www.insidethecbc.com/benchin

Hi Gary

I watched some of the videos you provided the link to and I also found this one that is of interest...

This is a small clip from CHCH news stating that they have been threatened with various measures by Ben Chin who is a member of the mcguinty campaign team. I personally called their campaign office at 1-800-268-7250 and told the woman who answered that I do not agree with Ben Chin threatening news organisations and trying to circumvent freedom of the press. I was then asked if I wanted Ben Chin's voicemail, so I said yes. I was put through to his voicemail box and left him a message stating my opposition to his actions. I suggest that you might want to post this information on your website to encourage others to call and voice their concern.

The Best Part... On his voicemail he gives out his cell phone number, 416-358-6291 for emergencies, so I called it, and he answered. Then I gave him a piece of my mind. He asked who I was and tried defending himself, but I got my message out to him that Freedom of the Press is very important in this country and province, and he should resign as a result of his threats to the CHCH. Then I hung up on his a**...

I hope you can post something on your website with the cell phone number so we can get this phone of his to ring constantly with angry people.

Thanks for all your efforts.
