A web site hosted by a man at the centre of several controversial rallies in Caledonia has shut down.

Gary McHale of Richmond Hill, who's taken an active role in the non-native side of the dispute at the Douglas Creek Estates, posted a simple message to announce that caledoniawakeupcall.com is no longer being updated.

"This site is down until the Elected officials in Caledonia: Councilor Grice and Mayor Trainer decide once and for all whether they want "outside" help or not.

"Why should any Canadians Care about Caledonia when so many in Caledonia clearly tell outsiders to get lost. Councilor Grice and Mayor Trainer speak for the people of Caledonia -- do you want help Yes or No?"

McHale has argued that the Ontario Provincial Police has a different standard of enforcement for native and non-native people. He was arrested during one of his rallies in December.

The native occupation of the land at Caledonia has now been going on for over a year.
