4 charged with drug trafficking

Four north country residents face federal drug conspiracy charges.

The Drug Enforcement Administration says the arrests took place early Thursday morning.

All are charged with possession with intent to distribute over 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of marijuana. The suspects are:

·  Christopher Labarr, 26, Malone

·  Michael Laughing, 41, Hogansburg

·  Matthew Langdon, 34, Hogansburg

·  Samual Garrow Jr., 33, Hogansburg.

Franklin County District Attorney Derek Champagne said the arrests will disrupt marijuana trafficking not only in the north country, but throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic states.

The defendants face possible prison sentences of 5 to 40 years if convicted.
