A report by the Tekawennake newspaper this week says that a multi-trillion dollar lawsuit was filed in an Ontario Superior Court of Justice on Monday primarily against several Six Nations residents involved in maintable discussions to resolve the reclamation occupation in Caledonia. The suit, filed by a half dozen Mohawk residents of the Six Nations of the Grand River, couldn’t have come at a worse time and could very well undo any progress that has been made at the talks. CKRZ asked the group’s spokesman, Mr. Curtis Hill, what their primary reason was for launching the suit. He spoke to the historical inaccuracies in which the Haudenosaunee have been negotiating under at maintable discussions with both Canadian governments.Mr. Hill also said that attempts were made in the past to draw the historical issue to the attention of the provincial and federal governments. He also expressed dissatisfaction for the way maintable discussions have progressed. None of the claims outlined in the suit have been proven in court.

Editorial Notes: Both the Federal & Provincial Government refuse to negotiate with groups that are suing them. This is the reason the Natives pulled their lawsuit regarding DCE back in 2004. Now that a lawsuit has been filed against the people the Government is negotiate with then where does that put the DCE negotiations???
