Ontario Provincial Police have issued a warrant in relation to activities at the reclamation site that took place on Victoria Day weekend last year.

On May 22 2006, Six Nations and Caledonia residents clashed near property that is being claimed as Six Nations territory. After the melee, a front-end loader dug up the road causing $6000 damage to the road. As a result, a warrant for the arrest of 33-year-old Jarrod Greene of Six Nations was issued today.

Confederacy representative Allen McNaughton has responded by calling the move “an intrusion into an area of jurisdiction that is outside the authority of a police force,” and “This clearly, is a political matter, not a criminal activity.”

In the nearly 11 months since the beginning of the reclamation, there have been several incidents between natives and non-natives in the small southern Ontario town. As a result of investigations completed by the OPP, there have been a number of charges in which 32 people face 69 charges.
