The Haldimand County OPP have arrested a 20-year-old man wanted for assaulting a police officer during the executive of a court order in Caledonia on April 20.
OPP, with the assistance the Six Nations Police, Christopher Hill in Ohsweken on the Jan. 3 during a routine investigation on an unrelated matter.
"I have zero tolerance for any actions in which public safety or the safety of any police officer is compromised" stated OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino. Fantino also said that "we continue to investigate all incidents and those responsible will be brought to justice where there is evidence to do so."
Hill faces the following charges:
• Assault police officer contrary to Section 267(a) C.C.C.
• Assault with a weapon contrary to Section 270(1)(a) C.C.C.
• Breach of probation contrary to Section 733.1(1) C.C.C.
Hill is being held in police custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing today.
