Caledonia , ONTARIO —The Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC), today announced Employment Assistance Services (EAS) funding of $127,542 for the Haldimand Community Support Centre in Caledonia.

Canada ’s New Government is proud to support community organizations that help people find jobs,” said Minister Finley. “I am especially pleased that this project will give people the assistance they need to find jobs right here at home.”

Under the EAS program, the Haldimand Community Support Centre will receive $127,542 to provide employment services to residents of Caledonia and the surrounding rural areas through its Employment Resource Centre (ERC). The ERC helps unemployed people with their job search by assisting them with résumé preparation and job search skills. The Centre also provides free access to labour market and career information, computers, photocopiers, telephone, and fax equipment. The Haldimand Community Support Centre has provided this service since 1988.

The EAS program helps Canadians prepare for, find and keep work. Delivered by Service Canada, the program is funded by Human Resources and Social Development Canada under the Employment Benefits and Support Measures.
