Introduction to Mr. Tory's Caledonia Leadership solution

Today we will bring an end to one of those evil rumors on the internet about our connections with the Conservative party. I receive on a regular basis emails from both Provincial & Federal Conservative parties' request for financial support. I receive these emails because my wife and I have been and still could be members of both parties. I say still could be because I do not recall paying any membership fees for a few years, although at $10 per year it would be easy to forget, and they may have left me on their membership list to keep the numbers higher. |

We Know Wimpy McGuinty's lack of Leadership but what about Mr. Tory

| Well it is safe to say that True Leadership Qualities are hard to come by in the 21st century. Far too many Politicians spend less time leading and more time finding ways to spin each situation.
According to John Tory's Press Release of July 5, 2006 he still wants some future date picked for Law & Order to be restored. Mr. Tory isn't calling for the IMMEDIATE restoration of Law & Order but to set an absolute deadline which would end Negotiations. [Link] Call me a fool, but setting some future date whereby Law & Order must be restored is not being much of a leader. When asked what future date Mr. Tory had in mind his staff could not tell me whether it was this week, next month or next year. Wow, just imagine a Mr. Tory leadership where on July 5, almost a full month after the increased crime on June 9, you can come to the BOLD conclusion that a future deadline to restore Law & Order should be set. |

What should we expect now from Mr. Tory

| Probably a few interviews with media outlets that will be more positive to him. Most, like a few Conservative backroom people, will try to discredit this web site - nothing directly from Mr. Tory. And a lot of words about pie in sky ideas that any party at any time could say about any situation. Here is an email I received from Mr. Tory's office today:
"While the McGuinty Liberals tried to hide and hope this issue would go away, John Tory and the PC Caucus have fought on behalf of all Caledonia area residents and proposed a number of constructive solutions, including better communication with local residents; insisting certain conditions are met before land dispute negotiations continue; and initiating a full inquiry at an appropriate time to look at ways to prevent a situation like this from happening again and to examine why land claims can't be dealt with in a more satisfactory manner for all concerned." Like most pages on this site, I first email to the people involved and allow them the chance to correct or comment on the facts presented. Mr. Tory's office has known for about a week that I was going to start focusing on his position or lack of it. And he has had the full text, other than this introduction, of what we were going to post. What Mr. Tory's office wanted me to understand is that somehow, by some magical way, Caledonia would never have gone this far. How would Mr. Tory have accomplished this... well... better communication. How would Mr. Tory have stopped the attack on the Power Station... well... let's not talk about details just vague words which any party could say. Would Mr. Tory fire Gwen Boniface or call in the Army... well... let's not talk about the details because such things would be not needed under a John Tory leadership because... well... magically everyone would be pleased. |

Do we really think that John Tory would be visiting Caledonia, making public statements and calling for a Public Inquiry if he was in power right now. It is safe to do these things while in opposition. |
