I speak of playing politics when I refer to so-called leaders who use backroom methods versus open truth. There are times when backroom politics is needed, especially between Government, but Mr. McTory's backroom politics are simple because he doesn't want to commit publicly. |

John Tory attempts to Fund and Control Caledonia Rally to Queen's Park

| We can only report what first hand witnesses have reported to us. We requested this witness to put in writing their claim and here is what we received.
"Dear Gary This is the complete story. A man by the name John Gould who lives on Thislemore, backs on to the Douglass estates organized a citizens rally to Toronto. He asked me to help him and if I could secure any funding. Toby Barret the local provincial PC who has tryed to do a good said Maurice of the support staff of John Tory would fund at least 1000 dollars. I spoke to a couple of local conservative people who would support the costs if the Caledonia Alliance was not part of the rally. I spoke to John Gould the night before the rally and he assured me that the Caledonia Alliance was not going to be present. The day of the rally Ken Hewitt, Raplh Lumies were at the rally already and at the main press meeting John Gould asked Ken Hewitt to become the spokesperson. I then knew that John lied and notifed him that the additional monies would not be coming from the two local conservatives and that he screwed up. He then told me that Maurice of John Tory's PC also said they weren't paying but he was going to ask the alliance. John Gould has never spoken to me since. Thank You" I then asked whether Mr. Tory had direct knowledge of these events and received the following: "Dear Gary John Tory was completely aware of the rally he spoke along with Toby Barret,Allan Pyette and the PC Native critic. There was a podium s/u and they all spoke to the rally people and the TV crews were filmimg John Tory, he was completely in the loop of info. " I was told by this person that he spoke directly with Mr. Tory at the Rally and the financial support was pulled when the Caledonia Alliance were the ones who spoke with the media and with Mr. McGuinty. |

| Why do you use backroom politics? You use such methods when you are trying to hide your true views from the public. If Mr. Tory comes out against Gwen Boniface and the OPP then what price must he pay in other areas in Ontario.
Instead of leadership we get spineless backroom dealing. Instead of action we get speeches. Anyone can offer words, anyone can come out strong on an issue. |
