Queen’s Park—MPP Toby Barrett brought Caledonia’s traffic chaos to the Minister of Transportation, today in the Legislature, but was provided with no new information on efforts to open the Highway 6 bypass.
“It’s my understanding you’ve made no progress,” Barrett told the Minister. “I can attest that’s a disaster.”
“Will you finally be straight with people in Caledonia?” Barrett continued. “Specifically, will you provide us with an update on the negotiations to open up that provincial Highway 6 bypass?”
Barrett’s asked his question immediately after the new Minister of Transportation told the Legislature that “the detour route is Highway 6.”
“The Highway 6 bypass is blocked- yet the Minister is unaware,” Barrett said outside the Legislature. “She doesn’t know what’s going on because nobody in the McGuinty government has shown the leadership to actually come and see what’s going on.”
“On this, the 100th day, the Minister of Transportation still doesn’t know what’s going on,” Barrett concluded.
