On Tuesday Oct. 3rd we received video clearly showing Natives within the 100ft no-go zone that the Government so proudly annouced over a week ago.

I had to laugh when Mayor Trainer was on CHTV and she too proudly stated that the government had created this new 100ft no-go zone. Since the OPP never enforced the last zone why was everyone so happy to say there was a new zone?

Maybe everyone is so happy because it makes for a good press release. Whether it helps or not will be overlooked by the media. Someone can walk around for the next month and tell people the March for Freedom isn't needed because everything is getting better.

It should also be noted that if the government was serious about this 100ft no-go zone they would have to get a few Natives to move out of the homes they have occupied since they too fall within this zone. We all know there is no way the Government is going to tell these Natives to move out so the 100ft no-go zone was never meant to be enforced.

"Hi Gary;

Here are the names and badge numbers of the officers (#10628 & #10374) who told me their supervising officer told them the buffer zone was only 9 feet and what did I want them to do, arrest him [the native]? I said yes. They said go call someone who can do something about it. I placed a call to Mayor Marie Trainer, informing her of what I had been told.

I asked for Mr. David Ramsey's (Aboriginal Affairs Minister) office phone number. I was given it right away. I called Mr. D. Ramsey's office and I was told he was in a meeting. When I told the person on the line what it was regarding they said they would get someone to call me back. Mr. Chris Moyer from Mr. D Ramsey's office called me back within 5 minutes. I explained the situation and my concerns and also mentioned I had it on video.

He said someone was meeting with the police inspector as we speak, to deal with the buffer zone issue. I was asked to hold onto the video. I also explained to him the police had yet to put up any tape marking the buffer zone and I also questioned why it was not being policed as of yet. Last week Mr. D. Ramsey publicly announced there would be a 100 foot policed buffer zone in effect immediately.

We have yet to see this, in fact we are watching the natives cross the old buffer zone. What hope and/or faith can we possibly have when the politicians publicly make promises they have no intention of enforcing."

"Gary;

I just wanted to let you know.....I called the OPP this morning and asked about the 100 foot buffer zone and how it is not being enforced.....the media relations officer I spoke with said that the OPP were not informed of a buffer zone. I nearly fainted.....how disgusting that once again the politicians have pulled the wool over everyones' eyes and not followed through on their promises. Surprised? No. Thoroughly disgusted? Yes."

Update Oct. 5, 2006

100ft no go zone not in place because of weather?

"Hi again;

I just got another call from OPP media relations.... I seems that the OPP just got word from within the OPP that they have been told to police the buffer zone, but they have not established the zone yet due to the weather?!!!!!"
