OPP has Earned the Confidence of the Citizens of and Visitors to Caledonia?
|
|
| According to OPP Promise they are commited to earning the confidence of the citizens of Ontario, which I hope includes Caledonia... does everyone in Caledonia feel confident with the OPP?
The OPP Promise 'open and honest dialogue' - does everyone in Caledonia feel the OPP and its Commissioner have been open and honest? The OPP Promise protection for the 'fundamental rights of all people in Ontario' - I am sure everyone thinks that both Natives and Non-Natives are equal under OPP protection. |

Promises, Promises: Is the OPP a Political Party?
OPP - Ontario Police Party - What we Promise is not what we do. |

| One thing I could not find on the OPP website is the goal or idea of upholding the laws of this Country. I read Commissioner Boniface's 5 points in 'COMMISSIONER’S DIRECTIONAL STATEMENT' which are the following: [Her Statement]
1) Responsible Fiscal Management 2) Relationship Building with Aboriginal Communities 3) Meeting the Needs of Diverse Communities 4) Supporting Marginalized Persons 5) Professionalism I don't know about you, but it appears that enforcing the law didn't make it into her top 5 priorities. In fact you will not find the words Law & Order, Crime, Justice or upholding the Rule of Law anywhere in this statement. Boniface said her force tried to deal with the situation "in a way that's reflective of 2006." [Toronto Star] |

Reflective of 2006

One would think the Police were not politicians and able to give a straight forward answer about law enforcement in Caledonia. Just exactly how many people in a room had to come up with this phrase that means... well... nothing about law enforcement that's for sure. Let's just reflect on 2006 to see what it could mean:
1) Canadian Criminal Code still exists 2) Charter of Rights that all people are equal still exists 3) Police enforcing laws based on Race, Colour, Nationality is still illegal 4) Stated Goal of OPP to protect Person and Property exists in 2006 5) Wimpy McGuinty is in Power 6) Life time career to help Native People, Gwen Boniface is the Commissioner 7) Natives are armed and dangerous Now you tell me which of the above is she referring to with the phrase "Reflective of 2006"? |
