OPP SWAT enter Native Lands - OPP hide event from Media
According to an eye witness report the following event took place:
On July 7th OPP SWAT team entered Native Lands in Caledonia to remove acetylene torches the natives had placed at the base of Hydro Towers. We spoke to a long standing resident of Caledonia who told us that he was the one who phoned the OPP to report the torches. He did this after several residents noticed the torches and questioned why Natives would want these torches so close to the towers. This resident informed us that he personally went up to the torches and checked the gas gauges and that someone did their best to photograph them from the road - see image to right. The final report from OPP is that there were only a roll of hydro cables there. However, if you look closely you will see that there is a tall cyclinder shaped object - about 12" wide by 4ft high. Acetylene torches have two tanks - one Red, which we can see, and another one green, which would be in behind the first tank. These cyclinders are heavy and you don't just pick them up and carry them through the woods. This set of tanks are part of an old wheel-barrel type wagon which can be hooked up to a truck to be moved or pushed along the ground. As such the wheels on this type of wagon are large and metal to handle all the hazards of moving them around and to allow them to move easier. On the day of the SWAT team raid several residents saw the SWAT team while driving down the road. The OPP called the resident who had reported it to the OPP claiming that the only thing there were a few cables - remember the resident's claims he walked up to the torches and looked at the gauges. |
| Let us address the OPP idea that the only thing there was a roll of Hydro cable. First, hydro cable comes on a large wooden spools and weighs about 1 ton each - hardly something you roll out and leave in the middle of a field. Second, we have all seen hydro cables being used by the Hydro companies - they unroll the cable as it is needed straight from the truck. | |

NO OPP news on Caledonia since June 21
| OPP Press Release for Haldimand County is http://www.crimealerts.net/haldimand.htm. If you review this site there are no news releases for Caledonia since June 21 regarding anything to do with the illegal occupation. We called Paula Wright on Tuesday this week and asked why nothing has been posted and were told it was because nothing has happened since June 21 and all was quiet.
We called again today, Friday July 14th, to ask if anything has happened in Caledonia over the past week and were told no - all is quiet. Both of these phone calls were made after the SWAT team raid. When we raised the issue of the July 7th SWAT team, she was unaware of any events that had taken place. She would check into it and get back to us. She phoned us about 1 hour later and said OPP had entered Native land on that day and found nothing. After questioning whether the SWAT team went in she said she would check and get back to us. Within 5 minutes she phoned and told me the SWAT team was not used and that only a couple of detectives entered and took a look. After verifying our details with residents we called back and spoke to the same person and raised the question of whether the SWAT team was used. This time we were told that the OPP does not report when SWAT teams are used. This caused us to question whether, when we were told the SWAT team was not used, was the truth or not. If the OPP does report the use of a SWAT team then how can you trust them when they say that one was not used? Remember the OPP line is that a couple of detectives entered on their own. We are to believe that the OPP, who have refused to enter for 5 monts, suddenly would allow a couple of detectives to go in alone? I recall an event when a couple of OPP officers drove, by accident, into Native Land - they were kidnapped by the Native mob and returned to the OPP - I believe the OPP car was destroyed. But suddenly we are to believe that they would send in a couple of detectives without a SWAT team? Fast forward to today and we called again to the OPP Media Line and spoke to a different person about other issues. We raised the SWAT team again and were clearly told the OPP would not tell us whether the team was used or not - in fact this person had no knowledge of the July 7th event. Since the OPP Media Line is unaware of the entire event then how could they release the information to the media? Clearly the media is completely unaware of the event because the people who inform the media are also kept in the dark. |

OPP Cover UP?
| So according to the OPP all is quiet in Caledonia and nothing has happened since June 21 - the residents no longer believe in the OPP and are starting to keep their own records.
A witness report of an OPP raid on Native Land does not fit the new improved public image the OPP want - therefore the event is never reported and now the case is closed without any media knowledge about it. We were in Caledonia most of Thursday taking photos - the OPP took our photos about a dozen times. They really don't like people watching them. Over the next few days we will bring you additional examples of OPP Cover UPs - events OPP claim never happened. We will also bring you examples of OPP pressure tactics to get residents to change crime reports or to drop their reports altogether. Residents have started to ask for the badge numbers of officers who coverup such incidents and we hope everyone will send us their story, the badge numbers, photos and any other proof to support your claims. |

We saw several deliberately set fires - photographed OPP trying to put them out.
But remember all is calm in Caledonia. |
