Gary McHale VIA EMAIL, Fax Ontario Provincial Police Commissioner
Premier Attorney General Leader of the Opposition Re: OPP Commissioner calls me a 'Bad Cold' – a disease
Dear Commissioner Fantino: On You should be aware that the pro-Native side of the protest in Clearly your words are meant to share in the effort to dehumanize me in the public mind. Mr. Fantino, we may not share the same political views, the same view of Law & Order, but I will not resort to your childish attempts at name calling to dehumanize you in the public eye. You, Sir, have completely failed at your job and your latest attempt to stop any opposition to your policing policy is childish and dangerous. These actions of yours further demonstrate to the average Canadian just how out of control the OPP is. I believe that in hind sight you realize that your words were not appropriate for someone in your position. I hope your sense of common decency will cause you to have the OPP do a Press Release apologizing for your words. I would think that you would agree that in In an attempt to clear any misunderstanding to the public I have already booked the Lions Hall in Caledonia for this Sunday, Jan. 14, from 1:00 – 3:00 for a public meeting regarding the Jan. 20th Canadian Flag Raising Event. I believe it would be a good idea for public safety and for Open & Honest Dialogue if you would make yourself available to address the reasons why putting up a Canadian Flag is a 'Breach of the Peace'. Thank you for your time. Could you kindly have your staff send me a copy of the OPP Press Release? Gary McHale
