But we have never had evidence or even rumours that the OPP was wilfully giving information to the warriors or acting in a way that would supply intelligence to the warriors and/or protestors - until now. I have waited a full day to post this story to allow for a more clear head so as not to say things out of anger towards the OPP who, at best, should be called the Keystone Cops.

My wife and I decided to go up to Caledonia this long weekend. One reason was to start to plan out an Ontario wide call for a rally in Caledonia. I had spent the past week emailing the new Inspector McLean trying to arrange a meeting to inform the OPP of the rally and to gain information from them on how to hold a peaceful rally.

Inspector McLean lead me to believe for a week that such a meeting with him was okay but then on Saturday, after I was on route to Caledonia, Inspector McLean decided he couldn't meet with me because we were media and that would be unfair. The meeting was orginally set for Friday and Inspector McLean stated in an email at 8:00 am Friday, "I agreed to try my best to meet with you Friday Sept 01, 2006" The previous day Inspector McLean had emailed me stating, "Send me an email through xxxxx or some other source and I will try to accommodate you and your time in Caledonia"

Not only was Inspector McLean a no show at two meetings over the weekend but suddenly we cannot meet ever. He states in an email about one hour before the meeting, "it would be difficult for me to speak to you directly as we are not speaking directly to other media sources. I expect you understand the need to be completely fair when dealing with all media"

What is amazing about this sudden political type reply is that the OPP have refused for 6 weeks to talk to me because they have decided I am not media and therefore they are not to speak to me. Not only does the new Inspector fail to get his B.S. straight with all the other B.S. coming out of the OPP but he also tries a little intimidation as well, "Planning a "Rally" carries a great deal of responsibility and anyone planning any such event should very seriously look at potential liability issues which could fall on the shoulders of the involved planners. The OPP would not participate in the organization of a "Rally."

This new attitude by the Inspector was sent by email before we arrived in Caledonia.

One such blog states, "I hope someone one day finds the c@cksucking little cvnt who runs the site and puts a bullet in his head." I have emailed the owner of this site but as of now the threats, along with other statements, remain posted. The owner tries to say that he is not threatening to harm us directly but only would be happy if someone else did it. But he does post the following, "I wish I could get the time off work to go to Caledonia and beat the daylights out of this Gary guy. Stirring the pot is all he’s doing."

Why such hate and desire for violence - he states, "#1, I have two native children." The only reason I have not taken his threats seriously is because this person isn't even smart enough to know we don't live in Caledonia.

The OPP should also be aware that Natives in Caledonia follow our every move. Anytime we are in Caledonia the Six Nations Reclamation blog posts things about us. A week ago on Friday the Reclamation had posted we were in Caledonia within 20 minutes of us being there and gave the street and house we were at. As of last night the Reclamation blog listed the topic "Gary McHale" at the top of their list [link] and the topic was linking to the death threats shown above.

In the past, Native supporters have posted wanted posters with a price tag, the names of children of people they don't like and which school they go to. I have been surprised that it took until this week for someone to issue a death threat against us.

Therefore, it really bugs me that the OPP was annoucing to the warriors and protesters that Christine McHale is driving our car into Caledonia with Gary McHale on Saturday afternoon when we arrived in Caledonia.

They ran our plates as we entered Caledonia (something they must be doing to every car entering Caledonia) and reported via radio the make and model of our car, the license plate number, our names, home address, phone number, date of birth along with the direction we were heading in and the fact that Christine was driving.

I guess the officers on the ground needed our phone number in case they wanted to phone us to tell us they supported this site and maybe they were putting together a birthday cake and needed our date of birth. Since we are taking donations maybe the OPP were encouraging their officers to mail us cheques.

What they did do was provide the warriors and the protesters information about our car, our address and phone number, etc.

Up until this point we have been driving around in Caledonia in other people's cars so the warriors and natives would not know where we were or what our car looked like.

THANKS to the OPP our efforts to ensure our safety is lost.
