DCE Protesters: Armed & Dangerous

We would be the first to admit that this past weekend was very quiet in Caledonia and this is great. Maybe, just maybe, the protesters are realizing that they cannot continue to use crime and intimidation to get their way. With all the focus that has been brought upon the protest in Caledonia, the protesters cannot afford any more images of burning bridges or seniors being attacked.

A year ago these same protesters thought they could do anything they wanted - including attempted murder. All they had to do was steal the media footage of these events and spin the news any way they wanted to cover up for the crimes.

A year later with, many people working to ensure that these criminal acts were replayed over and over for all the people of Ontario to see, and suddenly the protesters know that each criminal action they do will be viewed throughout this country.

This has been the great power of the internet.

This past weekend was quiet but also demonstrates a reason why web sites like this are so important. We got involved in Caledonia because the national media refused to cover the criminal events in Caledonia or covered them in such a way as to justify them. This past weekend it happened again.

On Thursday night a group of 15 armed masked Native Protesters attempted to create a barricade on the bridge - this was reported by CHTV but completely missed by national media. (see )

These armed protesters were stopped by Six Nations Police but they were allowed to retreat back onto the DCE area.

While we thank the Six Nations Police for their fine work at preventing what would have been a serious problem the next day when residents woke up to another barricade in the area, we do not thank the police for allowing these armed masked protesters to have safe haven on DCE.

We all know that DCE is a police free zone - paid for by McGuinty. We are well aware that no matter what crimes take place the police will do nothing once the criminals return to DCE.

Armed Masked Residents - How long would this last for?

Would the police allow Armed Masked Residents to run back to their homes without kicking in the doors? If 15 Armed Masked Residents confronted the OPP and then ran, what do you think would happen?

I think the SWAT team would be in Caledonia arresting each resident who was involved.

This is what would happen everywhere in Canada to any group of people who confronted the people with weapons. But in Caledonia, under Two Tier Justice, the residents have no Right to security of person, no Right to have their family protected against Armed Criminals.

The police once again demonstrated that they do not inform the residents of the danger and therefore, the residents are not allowed the same protection that all Canadians enjoy.

The Constitution of this country gives each person the Right to "life, liberty and security of the person". Such Rights are to be enforced by the the police and guaranteed by the Government.

In Caledonia Residents have no Rights because the Police refuse to do their jobs.
