Caledonia - Federal Issue #3: Terrorism is Federal - Aug. 20, 2006
What is terrorism? I believe my definition below fits quite well.

"The wilfull actions of a group to commit violence against an innocent target to further a political agenda"

Before someone jumps on us allow me to say the innocent target must be completely innocent - no hidden arms, no military officers hidden amongst the public, etc.

Allow me to now give an example of modern terrorism. A group of Natives state openly that they will commit a criminal act against CN Rail in Manitoba on a particular day in support of Six Nations in Ontario.[story]

What authority does CN Rail in Manitoba have to settle land claims - none. How is CN Rail in Manitoba responsible for anything in Caledonia - they're not. So why the stated criminal actions against an innocent 3rd party - to force a political agenda.

You approach a Canadian Corporation and you tell them that we will commit a criminal act against them unless... that Corporation helps you in your political agenda. In the end CN Rail had to agree to send a letter to the Government asking them to settle Native Land Claims. This is criminal intimidation.

What does an 92 year old WWII vet in Caledonia have to do with settling land claims - nothing. Does he have the authority to approve any land claim - no. So why attack his home and throw rocks and bottles at his house - criminal intimidation to further a political agenda.

In what way do the people living on Arygle St. have any authority to settle Native Land Claims - they don't. So why then continously, for months, attack their homes and disrupt their lives - because violence is acceptable to further your political agenda.

What are the weapons of Terrorists around the world? Death and destruction of personal property along with creating terror amongst those who are the innocent bystanders.

What are the weapons of Native Protestors - death and destruction of personal property along with creating terror amongst those who are innocent bystanders.

Two innocent Residents in Ipperwash have been murdered, bodies cut up and hidden on Native Lands. One was a mentally handicapped person who only lived in the area for two weeks before he wandered onto the protested lands. The OPP refused to search for the missing people and failed to charge anyone.

Five homes have been burned down in Ipperwash, power station destroyed in Caledonia, railway track & highways barricaded and damaged, attempted murder and assault and continuous criminal intimidation by Native Protesters.

These are the standard, normal actions of Native protestors in Ontario. After 16 years Ipperwash still has no police protection and Caledonia is being told to be patient - just like the people in Ipperwash were told.

Be patient for the 1st year, be patient for the 2nd year, then the 3rd, and so on, and so on.

Why would anyone believe the OPP or the Ontario Government would do anything different in Caledonia once the media starts to forget about Caledonia?

Modern Terrorism also seeks to do economic harm to individuals and to Governments to further their political agenda. This is done by directly attacking those things that enable economic prosperity - like highways, railways and power supply. All of these are targeted by Native Protesters.

But there is also another way to target individual prosperity and that is to create a belief that something is unsafe. Posting warnings about taking over windmills would cause investors to maybe move their money somewhere else.

It is amazing how many Native people sent off letters to stock markets around the world about the things in Ontario. One Native states, "We informed the stock exchanges around the world that we objected to Canadian Hydro Developers putting up our land as collateral to raise millions of dollars on the world money market." [story]

This is economic terrorism pure and simple.

Why do you think Henco Inc. was the only company to ask for an injunction on the DCE development? Maybe you believe they were the only company there - not true. Six other companies are on the DCE land - each afraid of how the Natives would respond to them.

This is criminal intimidation pure and simple.

If the media films things the Natives don't like then they attack the media and steal the camera. They attack residents who have cameras but feel it is okay for Natives to take video and photos.

Can Harper Explain to the Public why these Protesters are not Terrorists?
