Spectator 4 Months Too Late
Oct. 26, 2006 |
| It is nice to see the story today in the Spectator regarding the Burtch Tract. The only problem is the story is about 4 months too late. [Spectator Story]
I posted the Story back on June 28th and it had already been covered by Turtle Island News and the Sachem. [Link] I guess that means if you like your news to be well aged then buy the Spectator. At this rate we should be reading next week that Gwen Boniface is stepping down as OPPÂ Commissioner. Just so you know, I had a conversation with John Nolan, senior negotiator in Caledonia, back in June and I was clearly told that the Burtch Tract land was being given back to the Natives as payment for bringing down their illegal blockade of the Highway (my wording not his). He would say it was negotiated to end the blockade. Therefore, we paid criminals millions of dollars in land transfers to end their illegal activities. See additional document: [Link] Although this land is still legally owned by the Government, it is guaranteed to be given back to the Natives. |
