Federal Government Confirms Caledonia is not a question of ownership of the land.

It should be noted just how much B.S. we have been repeatedly given for months from the Media, Governments and Natives on this issue. If I had a dollar every time I have heard the words, "Land Claim"... when in fact it is not about land ownership. In 1995 the natives filed a lawsuit against the Provincial and Federal Government to recover money not paid to them and not a claim to regain their land. The lawsuit gives 14 reasons why the claim is much like a shopping list for more money the Natives want for 'land surrendered' . [link] At the same time the above link was posted (April 5, 2006) the Federal, Provincial and Six Nations issued a joint statement agreeing to a 'Resolution Progress' for the above 1995 lawsuit. Therefore, the lawsuit would be removed from the courts. [link] The three parties stated, "In our view, the resolution of these claims through dialogue and negotiation will assist in fostering a harmonious and mutually advantageous relationship among Six Nations, Ontario and Canada." Why then did the barricades not come down back in April?? Why then did McGuinty buy the development site if ownership is not being questioned? |
