McGuinty's New 100ft No Go Zone Announcement
Oct 17, 2006 |
| A few weeks ago the McGuinty Government along with Mayor Trainer annouced a 100ft no go zone on the DCE land. Everyone who has been involved in Caledonia knew this would never be enforced and to date all evidence shows that the OPP has not and will not enforce it.
It was a political announcement to make it look like something was being done to help the People of Caledonia. There was no intention to enforce it. But we like this announcement because it is an easy thing to keep bringing up to prove the OPP will not enforce the laws equally. Everytime we get videos or photos of Natives breaking this 100ft no go zone we will be able to show that the OPP will not do their job. We will be able to show that McGuinty is a liar and Mayor Trainer is a fool for promoting something that she should have known would never happen. |

McGuinty now Claims Natives will be billed for Hydro on DCE land
|
| This is another one of those announcement that means nothing. It is given one day after the March to prove to the public that McGuinty is trying to help, but in the end it is just B.S.
First, we have no way of checking whether the Ontario Government will continue to pay the bill - just McGuinty's word. And we all know how good that is - right??? Second, who will they bill? What name will appear on the Hydro bill? Which of the Native protesters will receive this bill? How will they force them to pay? Third, the bill, in the end, will go to the Band Council - Why? All this does is switch the bill being paid by taxpayers to taxpayers. Instead of the Ontario Government paying the bill, now we will have the Federal Government paying the bill. This announcement is just political B.S. and is meaningless. I just wonder how many taxpayers will fall for it? |
