McGuinty Calc - Spending Other People's Money

What is easier - spending Taxpayers money or having everyone equal under the law?

It is estimated that it cost approx. $300,000 per day for OPP services.

McGuinty has bought back the land from the developer at a price of $12.3 Million plus lost profit, etc. which adds up to approx. $25 million. So far local businesses in Caldeonia have been given $1.7 Million to offset losses directly due to the criminal actions of the Natives.

Included in these criminal actions by the Natives are the burning of the bridge ($1.3 Million), the burning of the power station (1.6 Million) and unknown amount for Road & Rail Repair as well as the replacement of Hydro Towers.

We can't forget the payoff to the Natives for ending their crime spree by removing the barricades to a tune of 267 acres of land worth approx. $100+ million.

Finally, just how much does it cost to have Peterson and many other negotiators spending weeks, months in Caledonia? Knowing the way our political leaders spend money on their 'right to their entitlements' this amount could be the highest.

So far, McGuinty Calc, has cost us over $200 million.

The above costs are taxpayers costs and don't take into account the additional economic harm done to the area.

The development of Dalton Creek Estates would have created 600 homes in Caledonia. at a price of $275,000+ per home for a total of $165 million+. The town itself will lose a yearly property tax of approx. $1.8 million and $20 million per year on groceries etc. See Economic 101 Caledonia Style

Also let us not forget that because of what has happenned who now would be willing to buy a home in Caledonia in the next 10 years? What do you think has happened to the resale value of everyone's homes?
