Ipperdonia - Settling in for the Long Haul Aug 4, 2006
To the right is a screen copy of Ipperwash Provincial Park as of today - Temporarily Closed. The last time anyone changed anything on this web page was on Nov. 2002.

We have heard that the Native Protest in Caledonia is the longest running protest in Ontario history. Hello, Ipperwash is still 'Temporarily Closed'.

Mr. Ramsay states in his Press Release, "Important progress is being made in discussions between Six Nations, Canada, and Ontario."

But Mr. Nolan, senior Negotiator, states, "talks continue on who owns the land, but he didn't think Six Nations' claim can be proven." Is this not the same as saying the evidence shows it was rightfully owned by Henco? We live in a country of land deeds so who owns the land - other than the Ontario Government?

If Mr. Nolan doesn't believe the Natives can prove their claim then why are we offering them anything? If Henco owned the land, and after 5 months the senior negotiator doesn't believe the Natives can prove their point, then haven't the Natives illegally stolen the homes and land they are currently on?

Instead of demanding the Natives obey the court order and leave the homes & land they have stolen, we are talking about building a 'berm'. Who came up with this word? Berm: a narrow path in a fortification between the ditch and the base of the parapet.

Somehow this word appears to fit.

With all the great progress that has been made, according to Mr. Ramsay, why are we talking about building a long term structure? Why are we not able to see that the talks will be over in a few weeks or a month or so? Well... because the Natives will never accept the land isn't their's. So where do we go from here... well... we have to give them something to get them to forget about this land or simply outright give this land to them.

Let's see what politicians do who always want to look good to everyone. How about giving them thousands of acres somewhere else while promising the residents that the DCE land will remain in Government hands to be developed into something that benefits all the people... like an "Economic Enterprise Center". It even has that political B.S. type of sound to it.

Now we know the Government would never now go ahead and build a casino on the DCE land - how could they. And we are sure they will come up with a better and different phrase than "Economic Enterprise Center" - that too would be admitting the leak was correct.

The only question now appears to be what is the price tag to pay off the criminals involved in this Native Crime Spree. By the way, according to Judge Marshall, the continued occupation of the DCE is a Criminal Offense.

Lets build a 'berm' and settle in for a couple of years of talks. After all, out of sight out of mind. Who cares whether the natives continue their crime spree as long as our children don't have to see it.

Welcome to IPPERDONIA
