Fantino enforces Two Tier Justice |

People had a lot of hope for Fantino when he first became the new OPP Commissioner. Any hope that Fantino would obey our courts, our Constitution, our Criminal Code or People's Charter of Rights came to an end on Jan. 20th when Mr. Fantino wilfully demonstrated to all that there are Two Policing Standards within the OPP. The first photo shows Residents of Caledonia, not outsiders, trying to put up a Canadian Flag on Dec. 2. They are standing in the exact location where Native people put up a Canadian Flag on Jan. 19th and in the same location I attempted to place a Flag on Jan. 20th. The Photo shows an OPP officer holding the pole to stop the residents from raising the Canadian Flag. They stood there for about 25 minutes. The OPP arrested one resident on Dec. 2 and released him a few hours later. What did Fantino have his officers do when Natives raised a Canadian Flag in the exact same spot? - nothing. The OPP stood by and watched. The OPP have stated it several times that they have intelligence that the raising of a Canadian Flag could result in violence. I have stated that no resident has responed with violence at the sight of Native Flags and will not respond with violence at the sight of a Canadian Flag. Therefore, OPP intelligence is confirming that Native Protesters are willing to respond with violence and the OPP should direct their attention to the people who are willing to use violence. In 1993 the Supreme Court ruled that we, as Canadians, have the right based on section '2b' of the Charter of Rights to Free Expression by placing objects on Hydro Poles. The Court ruled that the government, and therefore the police, cannot stop someone from doing this. Mr. Fantino is well aware of this ruling and chose to directly violate the Supreme Court ruling by stopping us from raising a Canadian Flag. We have seen the OPP repeatedly disobey Judge Marshall. We have witnessed the OPP standing by and watch serious criminal acts take place against people and their property. We now see that the OPP sees itself as being above the Supreme Court. Since Mr. Fantino has taken charge of the OPP the OPP have repeatedly slandered residents and other Canadians, falsely arrested people, wilfully created trumped up charges, illegally held a Citizen overnight in jail and now refuse to obey the Supreme Court of Canada. The OPP is out of Control - they have become a law unto themselves and they see themselves as answerable to no one. Mr. Fantino, you should be Fired. |
