Notre Dame School - Aug 31, 2006 Trustees move forward with fence At a special meeting of the Board last night, trustees heard details on the construction delays related to replacing the fence behind the school. In response to requests from parents, trustees decided, at the Board meeting on August 16, to build a wooden privacy fence in place of the chainlink, in order to reduce distractions for students in the classroom. The goal was to have this in place prior to the start of the school year. The Board heard that construction delays early this week were related to a need for clarity regarding the specific placement of the new fence. Construction of the fence, which will run along the existing fenceline, is expected to begin on Monday, September 4. A construction safety fence will be in place on the playground while the work on installing the wooden fence proceeds |

My Two Cents on a Fense at the School
The OPP, Ontario and Federal Government all want the Non-Natives to start to get comfortable with the protesters. Step by Step these parties have tried to control the media and put forward the image all is calm - why, so they wouldn't have to arrest the criminals on the DCE land. Now school is about to start. What is their answer - build a fence, post an OPP officer, etc. Why not arrest the Natives as ordered by the court? They want the resident to become accustomed to the Protest and to believe everything can return to normal even if the protest continues. Everytime the residents accept a little step towards this is another step towards 16 or more years of Ipperwash. Do you think the OPP & Governments have any intentions of protecting you or your property when they have PROVEN for 16 years to care less about the residents in Ipperwash. I don't live in Caledonia and can do nothing but speak what I believe to be the truth. The people of Caledonia have a choice to make - blindly follow the OPP & Governments who have already screwed you or take a Stand and Wake Up to reality. If parents and the people of Caledonia start accepting solutions like a fence or posting another OPP officer, who you know will do nothing if something happens, then you should accept right now that 16 years of protest in Caledonia is Okay. You either settle for Real Solutions or accept OPP & Government Propaganda - the choice is yours. . |

The OPP told the Residents of Ipperwash to not fret - they were in no danger - be patient. That was 16 years ago - 2 residents murdered in the last 2 years and homes completely burned down - no arrests.
Do You Trust the OPP to Protect You? |
Children's safety is too important to ignore.
At Ipperwash we had native men in cars knock children off their bikes and then spit on them. We had children crying all night because natives banged on their bedroom windows through the night. Many vehicles on several occasions had all their tires slashed. It was a lark to smash out the rear windows of vehicles, or throw rocks at them while driving down the road. Seniors were given notices of eviction at three o'clock in the morning on a regular basis by banging on their doors. A few parents were threatened they had best be on time at the bus stop to pick up their children or they may not be there. My neighbours for years walked and stayed with their children to get on the bus and had to be there when they came home. Children playing in the lake were dragged by natives back to another part of the lake that was not fronting on the former Ipperwash park in front of astonished parents. Natives driving dirt bikes often went down the beach in and out of where children and adults were sitting on chairs and blankets spraying sand and knocking over coolers and beach umbrellas. My own nieces and nephews were ordered off the west beach by natives and called white trash. Tourists on the beach with their children were often chased by natives and had their belongings stolen. Some unsuspecting tourists were harassed and even assaulted. Police would not go on the occupied areas to deal with this behaviour, even though the natives would deliberately come off the occupied area to wreak havoc , and were allowed the safe haven of the park and base after these incidents. | Caledonia News Information Session: Tuesday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. Parents and guardians of students at Notre Dame Catholic School are invited to attend an information session on Tuesday evening at the school, starting at 7:00 p.m. Board administration will present details on plans for student safety, communication with parents, and school leadership during the land claim dispute on the property adjacent to the school. As we are expecting a large turn-out, we ask that parents and guardians who are able to attend make alternate arrangements for their children that evening. A review of the meeting and copies of handouts will be posted on this site for those who are unable to attend. | |
