Oct 14, 2007 With all the OPP stationed in Caledonia you would think that when there is an Attempted Murder that occurs then the OPP would respond within a few minutes, but like everything else the OPP does in Caledonia it comes down to what is the politically correct thing to do. In cases in Yesterday, The vehicle was a black Chevy Avalanche, licence 936 3VL and has writing on the back window. The driver's side back window has the words "Your Government Lies" and the passenger side back window has the words "Question Authority". In the middle is a warrior symbol – see photo. Other than myself there were two people directly looking at the truck while it left the highway and headed towards me. People shouted and one video camera caught the truck passing right beside me as I quickly moved out of the way. The video also shows me immediately raising my camera and getting a photo of the truck after it passed by. I then phoned the OPP and reported it. After about 25 minutes I attempted to flag down an OPP car but he refused to stop. I was in the middle of the south bound side of After waiting approx. 40 minutes after the first 911 call I phoned again to report the license plate and to tell them I was going to close down As I hang up I saw another OPP car coming north bound and I immediately walked out in the middle of the north bound lane and flagged the officer down. The officer pulled over and from that point on everything was handled in a professional way. Just how long would OPP have taken to get to the DCE area if I had not forced the OPP car to stop is something we will never know. But one thing is quite clear, a town with 10 times more OPP than any other town its size could have been on the scene within 5 minutes if they wanted to. Would it take the OPP 40+ minutes to respond if I tried to run down a Native Protester or even tried to drive onto the DCE? We all know the OPP would have been on the scene immediately. ----- Police seeking witness in two incidents in Caledonia Hamilton Spectator - Oct. 14, 2007 CALEDONIA – OPP are asking anyone who witnessed two incidents near the former Douglas Creek estate lands this morning to come forward. Const. Paula Wright said police are investigating the alleged sale of cigarettes without a permit on a vacant lot. The site is a dozen metres from the edge of the Douglas Creek land and has a sign advertising cigarettes posted facing the road. A trailer, which was vacant as of early afternoon, is also on the overgrown lot. Wright would not say if police shut the shop down. |
