Councilor Craig Ashbaugh Suddenly Finds his Voice - Surprise, Surprise

It is amazing what elections do to politicians. Councillor Craig Ashbaugh has not said a word about all the crime related to the Native protest over the last 9 months and now suddenly he finds a voice. Who could have guessed that Mr. Ashbaugh would now want to justify his complete failure to help the people of Caledonia.

Not only has Mr. Ashbaugh done nothing to help the voters that he is now kissing up to, but he has been nowhere to be found. If now appears Mr. Ashbaugh has whole heartedly agreed with Mr. McGuinty's logic that going to Caledonia would not help.

Why Craig Ashbaugh has been so silent about Caledonia?
If you are like me you may have believed that the reason Mr. Ashbaugh has not spoken out is because he doesn't care - the voters be damned appears to be his attitude. It is my understanding that Mr. Ashbaugh has won as councillor 7 times in a row so why would he be concerned for the voters? Now that an election is coming up, Mr. Ashbaugh has to make it look like he cares about what the voters think and is trying to justify his lack of concern over those who provide him with a paycheque.

According to Mr. Ashbaugh's statements linked above, the reason for not helping the people who pay him is because he is unable to think for himself. It appears that the OPP and Government told Mr. Ashbaugh to keep his mouth shut so he obeyed.

Mr. Ashbaugh has forgotten who pays him - who voted him in.

Mr. Ashbaugh appears to believe he is obligated to represent, not the voters, but the OPP and the Government. Mr. Ashbaugh has forgotten what democracy is. Here we were thinking that Mr. Ashbaugh was spineless like McGuinty and now we find out that he is just a wimp who is unable to have an independent view.

You see, Mr. Ashbaugh isn't moved to help when seniors are attacked, he isn't moved to aid his fellow Canadians when their homes are attacked, he isn't moved to cry out when people are continuously terrorized, but he is moved to speak when it is Election time.
What has Craig Ashbaugh done for Caledonia?
Well Mr. Ashbaugh has a whole list of things he has done for the People of Caledonia. You have to love Mr. Ashbaugh's ability to produce political B.S. - in this area he should get full marks.

Under the heading of April 25th Rally to the fairgrounds, Mr. Ashbaugh lists out 14 items. Quite the list of accomplishments - sorry to mislead you, but other than to offer to speak at a rally, which was turned down (quite the accomplishment there Craig) the only thing he did was approve the relocation of the rally to the fairgrounds.

Out of the long list of 14 items, which makes it look like he is busy helping you, the voter, there is only one thing he did. He "spear-headed the relocation effort." Wonder if he also takes credit for the riot that happened afterwards.

Under the title "2) THE CALEDONIA CITIZENS' ALLIANCE – My role in the formation thereof" Mr. Ashbaugh lists out 9 items - again to show how much he has been doing. But it appears this time he did even less then all the great work he did for the April 25th Rally. This time some businessman, whom Craig doesn't want to identify, talked to him about his concerns about Caledonia.

This business man did all the talking and Mr. Ashbaugh did all the listening, but now we are lead to believe that somehow this is part of his great work on behalf of the People of Caledonia.

You can continue to read Mr. Ashbaugh's record of how much he helped the People of Caledonia but most of it is just a timeline of events to make the list look big and very little to do with Mr. Ashbaugh. In fact he wants to take credit for many things put in place by others - a simple vote on his part appears to give him all the credit for the work of others.
We get the Leaders we deserve?
Mr. Ashbaugh has already told us how he is going to act if he is re-elected - he will do and say whatever the OPP and McGuinty tell him, voters be damned.

There is no reason to believe Mr. Ashbaugh is ashamed of his lack of action or concern for the People of Caledonia, the People who pay his salary. He believes he has done a great job.

If he is voted back in the People of Caledonia will see and hear from Mr. Ashbaugh as much as they have seen and heard him over the last 9 months - ZERO.

If you vote Craig Ashbaugh back in then you deserve him as your leader.
