Rogue Mohawk warns more barricade action coming

Canoe.ca

... the rogue Mohawk protester who brought road and rail travel to a screeching halt said there may be more protests in the future.

Shawn Brant said the 11-hour shutdown of Highway 401 in eastern Ontario and the rail blockade was a "good test run" for future action.

Canoe.ca;

... the kind of action taken near Deseronto will only become more common if the government doesn't take quick action to address native issues, said Janie Jamieson, who spoke for the protesters

"Quite honestly, I think anybody who takes that initiative to stand up and take back their birth rights as indigenous people, they are justified," she said.

"If Canada doesn't work diligently and with a good mind to settle these things, the struggles are only going to become more fierce."

I have only one thing to say -- I, for one, am disgusted at the inactions of our Government and Police force (read as: McGutless and his lap-dog, Julian Fantino) in regards to Native barricades -- you can be sure that if future events are being planned by Natives, I will no longer sit back and be "tolerant" of your terrorism. If our government/police will not act, then we, the Canadian people, will have to restore the "Rule of Law" ourselves.

See you at the next barricade, Mr. Brant. ;)

Note - before the Police jump to conclusions, as they (OPP) did by executing a search warrant against a Caledonia resident (I'm looking for a link), I DO NOT OWN OR POSSESS FIREARMS OF ANY NATURE! This is not a direct threat against any one person (ie. Mr. Brant) -- I am simply stating that I will be there to stand beside my fellow Canadian** brothers and sisters to prevent any further demonstrations in the future. (Before Natives pull the "racist card", yet again, take note of the use of the word "Canadian" and not "white" -- look around, Canadians come from every walk of life.)

UPDATE (07/03/07) - YahooNews

DESERONTO, Ont. (CP) - Mohawk demonstrator Shawn Brant says there will be someone to fill his shoes if he ends up in jail after turning himself in to police later this week.

Brant, who led blockades of roads and a railway in eastern Ontario during last week's aboriginal day of action, declined Tuesday to name the man who will help lead the group of Mohawk protesters.

Brant said he plans to turn himself over to Ontario Provincial Police in Napanee, Ont., on Thursday morning and then attend a bail hearing that afternoon. But it's unlikely he'll get out on bail.
