Mohawk protesters realize they are idiots

Up until today’s National Day of Action, the only other thing in Canadian history that has galvanized Canadian aboriginals to act as one across the nation was when a couple of big chiefs got wind of what Jean Chretien’s 1969 White Paper actually meant. That act incidentally, spawned the National Indian Brotherhood which later became the Assembly of First Nations.

Looking at it this way - today’s peaceful protests, bannock breakfasts, bar-b-q’s and prayer ceremonies taking place across Canada is a very notable event. Too bad the media coverage is infatuated with a murderous thug and his merry band of Mohawk losers who decided to shut down Canada’s busiest highway.

Chief idiot Shawn Brant may have been watching the news unfold today and realized, hey - I’m the only aboriginal in the whole country behaving like a terrorist:

Highway 401 is re-opening following a deal between aboriginal police and the Ontario Provincial Police.

Mohawk protester Shawn Brant had setup three blockades near the eastern Ontario town of Deseronto - on the 401, secondary Highway 2 and the CN rail line.

Brant says he does not want to aggravate long-weekend travellers more than necessary by keeping the 401 closed throughout today’s native day of action. (Canadian Press)
